Carl L. Shipley

Carl L. Shipley, 75, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on January 14, 1941 in Hymera, Indiana the son of Loren and Blossom (Fern) Shipley. Carl retired from Wabash Valley Correctional Facility and formerly worked at JI Case in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was member of the Riley Masonic Lodge #390.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents and brother Virgil Shipley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Virginia Kay Shipley whom he married on October 6, 1962, two daughters; Stacy Street of Sullivan and Mary Feiler (Tim) of Terre Haute, brother Ed Shipley (Ruby) of Hymera, Indiana, two sisters; Vivian Southwood of Shelburn, Indiana and Iris Daugherty of Graysville, Indiana and four grandchildren Mary, Jake, Samantha and Lydia. He is also survived by his beloved dog Klyde.

Funeral services will be at 1:00, Monday, April 25 2016 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge in Sullivan, Indiana. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Brust Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society.
