David C. Benningfield

David C. Benningfield, 58, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

He was born on June 20, 1959 in Hokkaido, Japan the son of David and Kay (Kaneko) Benningfield. David was a retired correctional officer from the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended Northwood Baptist Church in Sullivan, Indiana. He was a member of IHSAA, USSSA and he was an official for various sports including softball, basketball, volleyball and soccer.

David is preceded in death by his father, David Benningfield and son, Timothy Benningfield.

Survivors include his loving wife Nicole Benningfield, mother, Kay Benningfield of Tell City, Indiana, children; Lara Benningfield, Luke Benningfield and Peter Benningfield all of New Albany, Indiana, step-children, Bryce Hamburg and Abigail Hamburg both of Sullivan, Indiana, and four brothers; John (Julie) Benningfield of Santa Claus, Indiana, Chuck (Carrie) Benningfield of Tell City, Indiana, Scott (Kim) Benningfield of Santa Clause, Indiana and Terry (Angie) Benningfield of Tell City, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home.
