Our deepest heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Only knew Dave through his connections with sports. He was the best official around.
We, in the North Knox Bicknell Indiana School area as well as the traveling KAOS softball teams, the players, the parents, the grandparents will certainly miss him.
We always looked to see who the official would be and our responses would be-oh good it is Dave.

I hired on at the Penitentiary with Dave in 1995. I also knew him from Carlisle. I considered him a good friend. I'll miss him. I'm very sorry for his family's loss.

I am sadden to hear that Dave passed. I have had the pleasure over many years of knowing him when I coached and he officiated our games for softball and basketball and then the past 2 years he and I have worked together as partners when officiating.... always a joy to see and visit with. I will miss him as a partner on the court/field. So sorry for your loss, God Bless.

Nothing like the losing a friend and a love one to put life back in to prospective... Dave was not only a friend but a family member with us Here at USSSA Softball. One of the best at what he did always there for the right reasons not just to make a buck but to impact the lives of the Girls he was officiating each game. Everyone here at USSSA hearts are broken and are Love and prayers go out to all of his friends and Family we will always be there for all of you

All of us at Indiana USSSA are saddened with the loss of one of our fellow brothers. Over the years Dave has become more than an umpire but a friend. His smile and humor will be truly missed at the ball fields. We all send our prayers to his wife and children and other family members.

We are so sorry for your loss! Dave was such a great guy. We all loved him. The girl's really enjoyed him when he umped their games for softball. And Hugh really loved umping with him. He will be missed by lots of people. He touched many hearts. Thinking of you all!!!!
