Donald Leroy Willis

Donald Leroy Willis, 74, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Roudebush VA Medical Center.

He was born on May 28, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Edward William and Mary Earlene (Nash) Willis. Donald graduated from Carlisle High School in 1961 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree at Indiana State University. He served in the US Army and was a self-employed auto mechanic. Donald was a member of the VFW 2459, American Legion #139 and the Sullivan Moose.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife Katherine Rigsby Willis, three sons: Chris Willis of Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael Wolowinski (Brandie) of Bartlett, Illinois, and Patrick Arnold (Shauna) of Sullivan, Indiana, five daughters: Aimee Huddleston (Scott) of Jasonville, Indiana, Cyndi Howe (Jason) of Sullivan, Indiana, Carla Stricklin (Glen) of Terre Haute, Indiana, Angela Taylor of Sullivan, Indiana and Valerie Power of Sullivan, Indiana, two brothers: Ed Willis of Sullivan, Indiana and Jack Willis (Nancy) of Carlisle, Indiana. Donald is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana. Interment will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carlisle, Indiana with a military graveside service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post.
