Harold Sterling

Harold Sterling, 69, of Paxton, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous battle with the rare disease amyloidosis.

He was born on November 19, 1947 in Odon, Indiana the son of Harold Ernest and Mildred Marie (Harris) Sterling. Harold retired after 37 years from Asplundth Tree Expert Tree Company where he started as a tree trimmer and advance to general foreman.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, mother of his children, Paula Sterling, his soulmate, Delitha Labate and sister, Betty Brinegar.

Survivors include two daughters; Amanda Pirtle and Mary Phillips both of Paxton, Indiana, brother, Donald (Diane) Sterling of Bloomington, Indiana, sisters; Barbara (Bill) Titus of Bloomfield, Indiana, Karen Hilleburg of Bloomington, Indiana, Gloria Jean McCoy of Jasonville, Indiana, Debra (Carl) Dowell of Pee Wee Valley, Kentucky and Diane Ward of Bloomington, Indiana, brother-in-law, Jerry Brinegar of Bloomington, Indiana, four grandchildren; Kayla, Austin, Andrea and Alexis, one great-granddaughter, Joplin, several nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by Delitha’s children; John (Wendy) Labate, Sherry (Carlton) Pinkston and Tammy (Richard) Anderson, grandchildren; Braylee, Brooklyn, Rachael, Ashley, Jonathan, Cody, Kendra and Presley, great-grandchildren, Devan and Dammon and Raydyn.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Disciples of Faith Church in Paxton, Indiana with Pastor Paul Zurcher officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:30 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Disciples of Faith Church in Paxton, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
