James Robert Street 100, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully with his children by his side at 1:41 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
He was born October 15, 1915 in Graysville, IN the son of Chester Street and Lola Burk Street.
James graduated from Graysville High School, he was a WWII Army Veteran, a lifetime member of the Mt Calvary Methodist Church, also a member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #139. He retired from Malleable Steel Factory in Terre Haute, IN. He also enjoyed traveling, being with his family and word search.
He was preceded in death by his parents, also his wife, Pauline Storey Street in 1984, two brothers; Clyde Street, Garland Street, and two sisters Evelyn Bogard and Loraine Street.
Survivors include one son; Robert Street (Lela) of Sullivan, IN, one daughter; Saundra Laughlin of Sullivan, four grandchildren; Paula James, Tammy Siepman, Heather Dubree and Erin Sloan, 11 great grandchildren; Zachary, Sydney, Levi, Savanah, Jeremy, Brandon, Trent, Erica, Ashley Whitney and Jesse, 5 great great grandchildren Morgan, Kaylee, Hunter, Kayden, and Kaysen.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Unger, and Rev. Ralph Roach officiating. Military graveside Rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan VFW Post. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mt. Calvary Methodist Church or Gentiva Hospice.
