Kourtney Leeann Smith

Kourtney Leeann Smith, 26, of Hymera, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her friends and family on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital after a lifelong battle with chronic health issues.

She was born on May 9, 1991 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Kourtney graduated from Dugger Union High School. She was a member of the Shelburn Southern Baptist Church where she was baptized and she was also a member of the Hymera Rebekah’s Lodge. Kourtney attended the Hymera First Baptist Church.    

Kourtney is preceded in death by her parents; Russel and Elaine (Woodruff) Smith.

Survivors include her son, Lucas Smith. She is also survived by her birth parents; Brad Lawson and Nancy Smith, adopted brother, Aaron Crist, adopted sister, Ronda Crist, several half-brothers, half-sisters and extended relatives.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Monday, October 2, 2017 at Hymera First Baptist Church 402 E Jackson Street in Hymera, Indiana with Pastor Lynn Ivy officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Hymera First Baptist Church in Hymera, Indiana. Interment will take place at a later date at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, Indiana.
