Nellie Imogene (Lucas) Sanders

Nellie Imogene Sanders, 93, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was born on February 19,1924 in Sullivan County, Indiana the daughter of Jake and Myrtle (Drake) Lucas. Imogene was an inspector for Gossards for several years. She was a member of the Shelburn First Christian Church.

Imogene is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 70 years, Ralph Sanders who passed away on November 16, 2014, son, Joseph E. Sanders, brother, Richard Lucas and three sisters; Maxine Bedwell, June Ring and Ernestine Ozier.

Survivors include daughter-in-law, Phyllis Sanders of Farmersburg, Indiana, sister, Marguerite Drake of Alabama, two grandchildren; Cheryl (Troy) Dragon and Amy (Jody) Anderson, seven great-grandchildren; Eliana, Elijah, Ethan, Makayla, Spencer, Darin and Josie and two special nieces; Sharon (Harry) Copeland and Connie (Randy) Dixon.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Chuck Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home.
