Alfred Smith Jr.

Alfred Smith Jr. “AJ” 86, of Farmersburg, IN passed away at his residence Saturday, March 10, 2018.

            He was born in Jennings, Louisiana July 2, 1931 the son of Alfred Smith and Agnes Istre Smith.

Alfred was an Army Veteran in the Korean War, he formerly worked at Miller’s Merry Manor, and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Farmersburg, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Terri Peter Smith in 2004, also a sister, Joanna Morrow.

Survivors include his wife, Merle Irene Davis Smith, two sons, Shawn Smith of Terre Haute, IN and Shannon Smith (Susan) of Terre Haute, IN, one daughter, Tabitha Drum (Bryan) of Winder GA, two brothers, Bro. Buford Smith (Maude) of Dugger, IN, Tooger Smith (Charlotte) of Bloomfield, IN, two sisters, Roberta Koll of Hathaway , LA, and Joyce Broyles (Doug) of Jennings, LA , four grandchildren, Alanah, Briana, Ciera and Delainey Drum.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Tuesday March 13, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, IN with Pastor John Sandiford officiating. Burial will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00AM until services.
