Amy L. (Lookebill) Simmons

Amy L. Simmons, 61, Sullivan, In, passed away Monday, January, 1 2018. She was born August 15, 1956 to Richard & Jane (Tindall) Lookebill in Evansville, In. She lived a life full of love and service to her family, friends and community. Amy was an active member of First Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 15 years. She was active in her local Tri-Kappa chapter (past president) and enjoyed helping others in her community. Amy also gave many hours of her time to the local Girl and Boy Scout Troops, where she served as a troop leader and den mother. Amy was employed at First Financial Bank as a teller supervisor for 20 years. She enjoyed her work there, as well as her many customers.  In her free time, Amy loved to be in the kitchen. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jane Lookebill, as well as her sister JoEllen Roessler and father in law, Will Simmons.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve Simmons of Sullivan. Three siblings: Richard Lookebill (Judy) Brazil, In, LeAnne Doty (Bob) Melbourne, Fl and Jeff Lookebill Sullivan, In. Mother in law, Mary Alice Simmons of Sullivan, In. Sisters and brothers in law: Keith Simmons of Sullivan, In, Teresa Terrell (Jim) of Sullivan, In, and Susan Tincher (Jeff) of Sullivan, In, Three children: Will Simmons (Sara) of Terre Haute, Julie Jackson (Michael) of Sullivan, In and Ben Simmons of Bloomington, In. Five grandchildren: Samuel Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Grace Simmons, Mary Alice Simmons & Henry Simmons. Amy also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Funeral Services for Amy will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Sullivan First Christian Church, 105 N. Broad Street, Sullivan, In with the Rev. David Cox officiating with Dr. Timothy Lueking and Rev. Michael Jackson assisting. Friends may call an hour before the service. Interment will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4th from 4-8 pm at Sullivan First Christian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Ministry Fund at Sullivan First Christian Church, 105 N. Broad Street, Sullivan, In.
