Arthur Wayne Boroughs
Art Boroughs, 90, of Sullivan, died in his sleep early Wednesday, April 18, at Miller’s Merry Manor. Art was born in Sullivan County, the only son of Don and Lois (Nash) Boroughs. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1946. He received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1950, served in the U.S. Army, and attended graduate school at Ohio State and Iowa State.
In the late 1950s and early ‘60s, Art worked as the farm radio editor for WKAR, the public radio station of Michigan State University, as an auctioneer, and later as a Realtor. He retired to Paxton, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sullivan.
Art is survived by his three children, Rebecca Stermer, Deborah Geiger and Don Boroughs, as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, at First United Methodist Church in Sullivan, with Rev. Ben Cassiday officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at the church. Burial will be at Merom Cemetery in Merom, Indiana. Memorials requested to First United Methodist Church or Future Farmers of America (www.ffa.org). Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
