Charles Cruea Schlotman

Charles Cruea Schlotman, 72, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.

He was born on February 3, 1945 in Crawfordsville, Indiana the son of Sterling Charles and Eleanor (Cruea) Schlotman. Chuck served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had a Master’s of Fine Arts and was a retired teacher from Turkey Run School Corporation. Chuck was member of the American Legion, Past Master of Carlisle Lodge 3 F & AM, Past Most Wise Master of Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, 33rd Degree Master Mason, production manager at the Scottish Rite for more than 20 years, and a zoning appeals board member.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his best friend & wife of 40 years, married on August 13, 1976, Rebecca Schlotman, son, Christopher W. (Rebecca C.) Stevens of Jackson, Tennessee, two sisters: Amy (Scott) Vergiels of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and Dorana Sarault of Fowler, Indiana, brother, Larry L. (Jane) Schlotman of Brookston, Indiana; one granddaughter, Jessica Stevens; brother-in-law and close friend, Tom Shepler of Sullivan, Indiana; niece Sarah Shepler, and nephew, Jonathan Shepler. He is also survived by two best friends, Perry Bovenschen and Harry (Carolyn) Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM, Friday, June 23, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with a military rite by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Masonic service and Scottish Rite will follow the service. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Scottish Rite Scholarship Fund, 727 Ohio Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47807.
