Charles "Dirk" Fredrick Ferree

Charles “Dirk” Fredrick Ferree, 69, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on September 10, 1949 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Harold Eugene Ferree and Ilene Mae Rilenge Ferree. Dirk graduated from Sullivan High School Class of 1967 and worked as a mechanic. He was a highly decorated Vietnam Army Veteran. After returning from the service he worked for the City of Sullivan under Lou Brooks management, Crane Naval Base and Hoosier Energy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 139 and VFW Post 2459.

Dirk is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lois Anita Walls and his faithful dog, Shotsy.

Survivors include sister, Rose Marie White, two nephews; Mark Allan Dudley and Steven Wayne White and niece, Montana Dudley all of Sullivan, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 1:00, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. Eddie Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home.
