Doris Marie (Garrard) Stanley

Doris Marie Stanley, 90, of Linton, Indiana formerly of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, Indiana.

She was born on September 8, 1927 in Crawford County, Illinois the daughter of Orville O. and Bessie Maud (Wolfe) Garrard. Doris was the bookkeeper for Harry’s Tire Service, a family owned and operated business. She was a member of First Christian Church, Psi Iota Xi and Hoot Owls Camping Club.

Doris is preceded in death by parents, husband, Harry Stanley who passed away July 27, 2008, son, Ron Stanley and three sisters; Juanita Hoesman, Wilma Exner and Shirley Bennett.

Survivors include her son, Bruce (Connie) Stanley of Sullivan, Indiana, sister, Mary (Tom) Gadberry of Sullivan, Indiana, grandchildren; Stacey (Pam) Stanley, Marcey Durm, Shawn Stanley (Dena Gilstrap), Cora (Todd) James, several great-grandchildren including; Paige Stanley, Kylie Stanley, Oakly Stanley, Hayden James and Cooper James.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
