Kenneth "Kink" Raymond McKinley

November 29, 1933 ~ June 10, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Kenneth Raymond McKinley (Kink), Sullivan, Indiana passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Jasonville, Indiana with Hospice Southern Care Services. The Lord took him peacefully in his sleep on that glorious day. Kenneth was diagnosed with a rare form of a cancer disease approximately one year ago, Thrombocytopenia and Myelodysplastic Syndrome with Stage 4 Kidney Disease. He fought a long hard battle

Kenneth was born November 29, 1933, the son of William Bryan Jennings McKinley and Amanda Oletha (Ridge) McKinley. He was raised in Paxton, Indiana by his mother with several siblings.

Kenneth was a member of Bible View Baptist Church in Sullivan, Indiana, worked for Asplundh Tree Service for 40 plus years and retired in 1996. After retiring he went to work for Goodwill Industries at Sullivan, Indiana until he physically wasn’t able to continue. He had other multiple jobs after his retirement. He liked to stay busy. Kenneth loved life to the fullest. He loved going to church and passing bible tracks. His favorite past timed was playing games on his computer, he loved fishing and eating what he caught. Loved riding his golf cart all around the town of Sullivan, especially around Lake Sullivan with his wife, Ethel. And most of all his first love and commitment was to God, his second love was his wife of 56 years and very large family.

Proceeded in death by his parents, three brothers; Larry D. McKinley, Darrell E. (Punk) McKinley, and Richard L. (Dick) McKinley, three sisters; Marjorie L. Borders, Eva M. Allen and Paula M. Sterling.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Ethel A. (Brust) McKinley whom he married on November 13, 1960, one brother, Charles (Chuck) A. McKinley of Jasonville, Indiana, four sisters; Dorothy (Dot) A. Gallian of Sullivan, Indiana, Rebecca (Sue) S. Gallian of Watauga, Texas, Mary F. Hardesty of Valparaiso, Indiana, Judy A. Sullivan of Paxton, Indiana, one brother and sister in law; Phillip and Eileen Brust of Nashville, Tennessee. No children, but blessed with several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Brust Funeral Home 400 North Court Street in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Larry Kimmell officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Paxton, Indiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

In lieu of flowers Kenneth wanted memorial contributions to be given to his wife, Ethel Alma McKinley.
