Luther Scott

Luther Scott 84, of Hutsonville, Ill passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Terre Haute, IN the son, of Luther Scott and Tressie Heckle Scott.

Luther was a US Army Veteran, retired from Stran Steel in Terre Haute, IN after 30years, and drove a coal truck for several years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Sullivan, IN and the United Steel Workers Local Union #7441 in Terre Haute, IN for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Luther W. Scott, and Bernard A. Scott, two brothers, Edward Scott and Robert Scott, three sisters, Francis Milam, Mildred Kireta, and Louise Claycomb.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Helen Beard Scott whom he married on February 12, 1955, three daughters Phyllis Latshaw (Jeff) of Oaktown, IN Patricia L. Penrod of Sacramento, CA and Pamela S Pirtle (John) of Merom, IN, one sister, Mary E. Nelson of Sullivan, IN, nine grandchildren, Nikki Amburgey, Victoria McKinnon, Brandi Grable, Jacki Tindall, Jodi Fox, , Leslie Lawrence, Jamie Penrod, Shaun Scott, Scott Latshaw, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Tuesday February 20, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, IN with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN with Military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn, Hymera Legion Posts and the Sullivan VFW Post.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until services Tuesday.
