Mildred Lofton Obituary

Mildred H. Lofton, 103, of Shelburn, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on August 16, 1914 in Sullivan County, Indiana the daughter of Joseph and Etta (Engle) Harding. Mildred was a teacher for 33 years at Farmersburg, Graysville, Shelburn and Hymera Schools. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, UMW and The Retired Teachers Association.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 54 years, Howard Lofton who passed away on May 15, 1995, daughter, Martha Nash and four sisters; Mary Hood, Esther Martin, Louise Harding, and Ethel Elizabeth Harding.

Survivors include son, David (Sue) Lofton of Shelburn, Indiana, son-in-law, Patrick Nash of Shelburn, Indiana, six grandchildren; Beth Nash (Terry) Hunt, Mike Nash (Kathy Crafton), Scott (Jamie) Lofton, Paul (Lori) Lofton, Jim Nash (Heather Stockrahm), and Joe (Gayla) Lofton, seven great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. Don Ransford and Rev. Jeff Blansett officiating. Interment will follow in K of P Cemetery in Hymera, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home.
