Norma F. Smith, 97, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
She was born on February 10, 1921 in Logansport, Indiana the daughter of James Earl and Izzetta (Powers) Bennett. Norma was a lifelong homemaker and retired from housekeeping. She was a member of the Indian Prairie Baptist Church. Norma was a member of a bluegrass band and loved to sing. She was an avid gardener, quilter and loved to fish.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Eugene Parker, second husband, Elmer Smith, one son, Karl Parker, son-in-law, Tom Knight, two brothers; James and Michael Bennett, two sisters; Mary Izzetta Bennett and Audra Roye and two grandchildren, William Knies and Rebecca Parker.
Survivors include two daughters; Patricia (David) Knies of Chesterton, Indiana and Lois Knight of Dunlap, Tennessee, son, James Parker (Barb Ernster) of Phoenix, Arizona, step-daughter, Ruby Faye Crosby of Altoona, Pennsylvania, step-son. Roy Elmer (Trudy) Smith of Altoona, Pennsylvania, brother, John Robert (Darla) O’Keefe of Charlestown, Rhode Island, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Tim Ferree officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Prairie Cemetery in Sullivan County, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home.
