Benny Laurel Figg, 89, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Glenburn Senior Living.

He was born on January 5, 1935, in Bucktown, Indiana the son of Raynold and Irene Land Figg. Benny graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1953. He was a lifelong farmer while also working at General Electric, Breed Power Plant in Fairbank, Hoosier Energy in Petersburg and Hoosier Energy in Merom. Benny retired from Hoosier Energy in 1984. Work was his hobby, but he also enjoyed farming, pushing down trees, mowing grass and working on equipment. Benny always had time for a St. Louis Cardinals ballgame and his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Benny is preceded in death by his father, Raynold Figg, mother, Irene Land Figg Enochs, brother, Larry Figg, sister, Margaret Stanton, infant grandson, Lester Alumbaugh and one sister-in-law, Criss Figg.

Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years Ruth Pauline Patton Figg, daughter, Beth Alumbaugh of Dugger, Indiana, sons; Jeff (Kim) Figg of Sullivan, Indiana and Matt (Cheri) Figg of Sullivan, Indiana, six grandchildren; Ally (Jordan) Orwig, Tyler (Valerie) Figg, Rachel (Kyle) Ubelhor, Clay Figg, Nicholas Roberts and Jessie Roberts, five great-grandchildren; Beatrix Orwig, Hazel Orwig, Ivy Orwig, Henry Figg and Simon Figg, brothers; Tucker Figg and Mike (Dot) Figg and sister-in-law, Jerri Figg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Brust Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 13, 2024, at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Bro. Jack Clark officiating. Burial will take place at a later time in Woodward Cemetery in Dugger, Indiana.
