Carlos E. Murphy

Carlos E. Murphy, 79, of Brownsburg, Indiana has gone home to be with his wife, Carol, of 51 years on Monday, February 27, 2023, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on September 16, 1943, in Columbia, Kentucky the son of Elzie Murphy and Ina Stotts Murphy. Carlos retired from Munster Steel in Munster, Indiana.
Carlos was born and raised in Kentucky and remained a loyal University of Kentucky fan throughout his life. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather who loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren and listening to country music, especially his favorite singer, Hank Williams Sr.

Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Murphy, daughter, Teresa Krentkowski, three brothers: Floyd Murphy, J. Dell Murphy and Bobby Dean Murphy and sisters: Barbara Janes, Elsie Wilson, Alene Morrison, Ruby Beatty, Imogene Akers, Ceola Hill and Dorothy Ray. 

Survivors include his daughter, Jill (Jerry) Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother, Donald (Elizabeth) Murphy of Greensburg, Kentucky, nine grandchildren: Justin (Caitlyn) Jones, Cody (Sunnie) Jones, Amber (Corey) Cookson, Heather (Jake) Krentkowski, Kevin Krentkowski, Sabrina Krentkowski, Jodie Krentkowski, Tabbitha Krentkowski and Eli Krentkowski and five great-grandchildren: Briana, June, Willow, Waylon and Finley Jones. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Brust Funeral Home.
