Charles A. Hensley

Charles A. Hensley, 69, of Shelburn, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 27, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on April 11, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana the son of Albert Harold Hensley and Mary Ann Edwards Hensley. Charles graduated North Central High School and married Susan Hagood on May 14, 1982. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served his country for over 25 years before he retired. Charles was a member of the Shelburn American Legion and the Sullivan Moose.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 37 years, Susan Hensley, daughter, Helen Thomas-Hyde and two brothers; Ronald and Joseph Hensley.

Survivors include his three daughters; Johnnie Martinez of Shelburn, Indiana, Susie Gilley (Kenny) of Terre Haute, Indiana and Jessica Moyer of Colorado, three brothers; Michael Hensley (Pat), Richard Hensley and Randy Hensley all of South Bend, Indiana, two sisters; Gail Curtis (Bud) of Shelburn, Indiana and Regina Hensley of South Bend, Indiana, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM of Friday, August 7, 2020 at Brust Funeral Home with a Military service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
