Charles M. McCullaugh, 94, of Sullivan, IN passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Breckenridge Health and Rehab.
He was born in Sullivan, IN on September 22, 1926 to Robert and Mary (Thrasher) McCullaugh.
He was preceded by his wife Melba Boone McCullaugh, parents and brother Max McCullaugh.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Charles was a proud World War II Army Veteran, He worked as an Auditor for the State of Indiana. Charles and Melba raised and showed Shetland ponies for over 63 years and loved sharing their ponies with children.
Charles was a lifelong member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #139, where he served happily at all events. He was also a member of the Sullivan VFW Post #2459, the Sullivan Elks, Sullivan Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Zorah Shrine. He was also a lifelong member of the Sullivan First Christian Church.
He was a friend to all and always took the time to listen, help, and advise. He was a true gentleman.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, IN with Rev David Cox officiating. Burial in the Center Ridge Cemetery with Military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and the Sullivan VFW Post. Visitation is from 11:00 AM until the time of services Thursday.
