Dolores (Clayton) Weil Obituary
Dolores Weil, 96, of Farmersburg, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth, Indiana. She was born on April 11, 1929, in Loretto, Tennessee, the daughter of Walter and Nellie Clark Clayton.
In Mississippi, in May of 1953, Dolores married John D. Held of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. They moved to Detroit, Michigan and she was widowed two years later. In August of 1964, Dolores moved from Detroit to Farmersburg, Indiana to marry Raymond Weil. She was a housewife and farming business partner for their 49 years of marriage. Her prior work history included waitressing, being a certified welder, and a teletype operator for Chrysler Corporation, among other things. She took much pride in her work ethic. Dolores attended the First Methodist Church of Farmersburg and was active in Farm Bureau and the Soil and Water Conservation district. She was an avid gardener throughout her life, and loved a good bargain, especially on clothes. She was also quite the conversationalist, unless you got on her bad side.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joyce McMahan and Marie Dailey, and two brothers, Doris Lawrence Clayton and Joe Glenn Clayton.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Kennedy of Walkerton, Indiana, a grandson, Peter Kennedy, his wife, Kelly, and two great grandchildren, Xavia and Porter, all of Berkley, Michigan.
A private graveside service will be held with a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.
Thank you to Pilgrim Manor for the excellent care given to Dolores throughout her time there. It is deeply appreciated."
