Donald G. Davis
Donnie went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 12:05am. He was surrounded by his family on the farm that he had poured his life into for 50 years. He was very proud of the fact that his son took over the farm as his Parkinson’s disease progressed. His son continues the legacy of a farm that’s been in the family for over 100 years. Donnie was born on Feb. 10, 1951 to Charles and Virginia Davis, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Davis. Donnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Debbie (Cox) Davis; children, Sarah (Chad) Flesher, Leah (Kevin) Newton, and Joshua (Dawn) Davis; grandchildren, Lauren and Isaac Flesher, Luke, Ella, James, and Eli Newton, Hadassah, Savannah, and Solomon Davis; sister, Nancy Hutchison; sister-in-law, Susan Davis; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Donnie loved his farm, caring for all the animals on the farm, riding motorcycles when he was younger, and camping. He loved most of all spending time with his family and serving the Lord through his church, Blessed Hope Baptist Church, where he was a member for 47 years. His family will most remember his quiet presence, steadfastness, and humble faith.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 2:00pm at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, Jasonville, In. Visitation will be from noon to time of service at the church. Services officiated by Pastor Jerry Ross. Burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, rural Farmersburg.
