Donald “Don” W. Bedwell, 85, of Dugger, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
He was born on June 4, 1932 in Sullivan County, Indiana the son of Matt and Ona (Shepard) Bedwell. Donald married his loving wife Patty Goodman Bedwell on March 31, 1957. He graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Shiloh Church of Christ. Donald taught school at Pleasantville High School and was the director of Sullivan County Division of Family and Children Services for 35 years. He also served on the 4-H Fair Board, 4-H Council, Sullivan County Redevelopment Board, Board of Health and past President of Pleasantville Water Company.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale Bedwell and three sisters; Helen Bedwell, Maxine Buck and Joy Boone.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Patty Bedwell, three daughters; Cinda (Ron) Horn of Dugger, Indiana, Teresa (Robin) Robbins of Sullivan, Indiana and Pamela (Kevin) Kirschner of Carlisle, Indiana, four grandchildren; Kyla (Brent) Stringer, Keri (Nick) Folz, Kelli Kirschner and Kyle Kirschner, five great-grandchildren; Audrey Stringer, Lily Stringer, Aiden Folz, Addie Folz and Graham Folz, thirteen nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Bro. Buford Smith and Bro. Jack Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Woodward Cemetery in Dugger, Indiana. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 11, 2018 and from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home.
