Eva Mae (Davis) Meyer

Eva Mae Meyer (91) peacefully passed away on August 27, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Millers Merry Manor.  Eva was born on, August 18, 1930.  Eva was proceeded in death by her parents, Harry & Effie Davis from Sullivan, IN, her six brothers, Harold Davis, Bill Davis, Claude Davis, Melvin Richard Davis, Donald Davis and Wendell Davis,  five sisters, Edith Lewellyn, Catherine Reel Arnette, Mildred “Phrone” McCammon Padgett, Lois Saucerman and Doris Davis. 

Eva was married to David Wesley Meyer (deceased) in 1948. They had two children Brenda (Paul) Pierson and Reba Haddix Horndasch. Both daughters went to heaven to prepare a place for their mother. 

She is survived by two brothers, Loren (Verne) Davis and Robert (Ruthann) Davis, a brother-in-law, Wayne Saucerman, and a sister-in-law Ellen Davis along with many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, David Haddix (Jackie) of Sullivan, Heather Horndasch Stark of Sullivan, and Sondra (David Levy) Pierson of Rhode Island.

Eva had several great-grandchildren, Lukis Haddix, Conner Nolan, Noah Stark, Adam Stark, Joie Kaiser, and Joshewa Meurer. Numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Eva worked at Gossard’s as a seamstress and at Sullivan Walmart. She loved making quilts and sewing and loved to dabble in crafty projects of all kinds.

Eva was a member of the Methodist church in Sullivan and the Eastern Stars.

Everyone knew Eva as a fun and spirited lady who always enjoyed joking with people and making them smile. She provided endless laughter to grandkids and great-grandchildren with her zest for fun and the love of a good prank. She never wanted the room to be quiet as she always had a knack for providing entertainment to whoever was around. She also spread her love and kindness by baking her world-famous banana bread of which she probably made thousands of loaves over her lifetime.

Eva was a special person to so many people and her presence will be greatly missed. Although it hurts our hearts to have you gone, we find peace in knowing that you are resting with the Lord in Heaven and reunited with papaw, Brenda, and Reba.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Brust Funeral Home from 6PM – 8PM.
