George T. Gofourth

George T. Gofourth, 69 of Paxton, Indiana passed away at St. Francis Hospital Indianapolis after fighting a battle with leukemia.

He was born on October 14, 1950 is Sullivan, Indiana the son of Thomas H. Gofourth and Daisy Marie Alexander Gofourth. George retired from Laborers Local 204 after working several years at Dennis Trucking in Terre Haute.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Sara Ridge Gofourth, his sons; Thomas W. Gofourth (Carmen), James Gofourth (Susan) and Patrick Gofourth (Brooke Long) all of Sullivan, Indiana, six grandchildren; Kennedy Gofourth, Cara Gofourth, Korinne Gofourth, Kaycee Gofourth, Carter Wilkinson and Violet Wilkinson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Gofourth.

George spent his retirement restoring old cars and traveling with his wife. He loved to teach others about 1928 and up vehicles.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Gregory Isaac officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Paxton, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Brust Funeral Home and from 11:00 AM until the service on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
