Helen P. (Beard) Scott

Helen P. Scott, 84, of Sullivan, Indiana formerly Hutsonville, Illinois passed away on April 30, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on June 10, 1938, in Keyser, West Virginia the daughter of Bernard Beard and Ella McCombs Beard. Helen married Luther Scott on February 12, 1955, and was a homemaker raising their five children until the youngest child started school. She worked at Gossard in Sullivan for several years and then at Lexel Industries in Hutsonville, Illinois for seventeen years. Helen was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed crafts. 

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years Luther Scott, two sons: Luther W. Scott and Bernard A. Scott and sister, Barbara Roark.

Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Latshaw (Jeff) of Oaktown, Indiana, Patricia Penrod of Oaktown, Indiana and Pamela Pirtle (John) of Merom, Indiana, nine grandchildren; Shaun Scott, Nikki Amburgey, Victoria McKinnon, Scott Latshaw, Brandi Grable, Jacki Tindall, Jodi Fox, Leslie Lawrence and Jamie Penrod and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 5, 2023, at Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, Indiana with Pastor Jeffery Fulk officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
