James Story Obituary

James R. Story, 89, of Dugger, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on October 24, 1933 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Nelson Story and Ina May Robbins Story. James graduated Sullivan High School in 1951 and from Indiana’s Teachers College with his Bachelors of Science. He was a veteran of the US Airforce in aviation electronics and was stationed in North Africa during the Korean War. James was a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge #263 and the Sullivan First Christian Church.

James is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three children; David Story (Deborah) of Sullivan, Indiana, Susan Rawlings of Sullivan, Indiana and Christopher Story of Dugger, sister, Sherry Monroe (Mike) of Ellettsville, Indiana, five grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters.

A private graveside service will be held with burial at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
