Jerald D. Smith

Jerald D. “Tiny” Smith, 76, of Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

He was born on November 10, 1944 in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of Herschel Smith and Juanita Keller Smith. Tiny worked at Peabody Hawthorn Coalmine for several years. He was a member of the Carlisle Conservation Club and UMWA 1410 where he was the current President.

Tiny is preceded in death by his parents; Herschel and Juanita Smith, wife, Brenda Clines Smith, son, Justin Smith, grandson, Malakye Fisher, sister, Deloris Smith and brother-in-law, Charles Elliott.

Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Smith of Carlisle, Indiana grandson, Jeramiah Smith of Carlisle, Indiana, sister, Barbara Elliott of Vincennes, Indiana and brother, John W. Smith of Carlisle, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 20, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Prairie Cemetery in Pleasantville, Indiana. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on August 20, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home.
