Jerry Wayne Cowden, 73, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Westridge Health Care Center in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born on September 27, 1945 in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of Wayne Cowden and Catherine Burnam Cowden. Jerry graduated from Coalmont High School class of 1963. He honorably served his country in the US Army and US Marines and later worked as a Union Laborer throughout his life. He loved music and playing the guitar and was also an avid fisherman. Before getting in poor health he loved to visit with friends at the Sullivan Moose Lodge, where he has served as an administrator, and the American Legion.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Joy Salesman, Judy Drake, Darla Sue Cowden and Debbie Cowden.

He leaves behind his beloved fiancé Brenda Coakley and their precious dog Wiggles, two sons; Jerry Wayne Cowden Jr. and Troy Cowden, daughter, Angela Marie Cowden, step-daughter, Autumn Kennedy, sister Vickie French (Dale), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be no public viewing, only a celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
