John L. Stringfellow, “Jack”, 90, of Sullivan, IN passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan, IN.
He was born in Clinton, IN August 8, 1930 the son of Anton Stringfellow and Sarah (Ellis) Stringfellow.
John graduated from Clinton High School in 1948, was a US Army Veteran, went to ISU, was a member of the First Christian Church in Sullivan, IN.
He was very active in Scouting as a boy, later becoming an Eagle Scout. He then became the Scout Master for Troop #63, when his sons joined the Scouts.
He was a retired member of the Local #157 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, also a brother Charles Stringfellow, and two sisters, Mary Pavokovich, and Anna Mae Wright.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Rosemary (Wilson) Stringfellow whom he married on March 25, 1956, three sons, Thomas C. Stringfellow of Madison, WI, Richard A. Stringfellow (Angela) of Williamsport, IN, and Anthony C. Stringfellow (Johannah) of Sullivan, IN, five grandchildren, Amy Nixon (Tony), Sarah Lindsay (Chad), Kelsy Moss (Justin), Neil Stringfellow (Kirsten), and Tristan Stringfellow, three great grandchildren, Camden Vinyard, Wyatt Whitley and Lyla Lindsay.
Graveside services will be at 1:00PM Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN with Rev. David Cox officiating. There will be no visitation.
