Judith R. (Hazel) Rayl

Judith “Judy” R. Rayl, 76, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Washington Nursing Center.

She was born on October 1, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Frederick E. Hazel and Hazel J. Penrod Hazel. Judy graduated from high school and was a nurse’s aide for several years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Robinson, Illinois.

Judy is preceded in death by parents, husband, Richard Eugene Rayl and son, James Robert Shake.

Survivors include her son, Jerry D. Shake of Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter, Mary A. Shake significate other (Charles Crowley) of Washington, Indiana, three brothers; Frederick E. Hazel of Indianapolis, Chester Hazel of North Dakota and Guy Hazel of Odon, Indiana, sister, Juanita Sue Hazel of Washington, Indiana, six grandchildren; Jerry, David, Kenneth, Emily, Jeremy and Taylor, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

A celebration of life will be held at a later date with burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
