Kathryn Louise (Patterson) Pierce

Kathryn Louise (Patterson) Farthing Pierce, 85 of Sullivan, IN passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Signature Healthcare in Terre Haute, IN.

She was born in Lyons, IN December 1, 1934 the daughter of William Patterson and Mildred (Williams) Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James R. Farthing, whom she married on July 7, 1956 until his passing on February 14, 1988. Her second marriage was to  John Pierce until his passing on September 9, 2013 also two brothers, Bud Patterson, and Bill Patterson, five sisters, Maxine Ketchum, Wilma Odom, Nancy Eldridge,  Glenne Parker, Helen Teague

Kathryn worked at the chair factory in Bloomfield, IN, after graduating from Lyons High School was the former  Co-owner of the Farthing Jewelry Store, she also worked at the State Farm Insurance Co. and the Sullivan Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church and sang in the choir for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Farthing of Linton, IN, Ted Farthing ( Amy) of San Antonio, TX. two daughters, Lisa Reid (Gary) of Sullivan, IN, Becky Cox (Larry) of Carlisle, IN, one brother, Robert Patterson of FL, two sisters, Betty Cowan (Andrew) of Seattle, WA, Mary Jane Bedwell of FL, five grandchildren who she adored: Brooke Reid Serour, Aaron (Ashley) Reid, Kara Cox and Jordon (Courtney) Cox, Elizabeth Canada and six great grandchildren she treasured: Luka, Brady, Kale, Dexter, Coralynn and Archer.

Private graveside services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
