LeRoy Barden, 90, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
LeRoy was born on May 12, 1930 to Benjamin and Vera (Mason) Barden in Merom, Indiana. LeRoy (or T-Bone as known by many) started his early days as a farmer in Sullivan County. Later spent most of his life as a carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Vanetta Faye Barden (Ernie) Breedlove and Mildred E. Barden (Robert) Wilkes, three brothers; Walter Henry Barden (Frances), Wilbur Duane Barden and Lloyd Wendell “Toad” Barden (Ardith). LeRoy is also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, the love of his life, Betty Wilson Barden in 2006, his son, Calvin L. Barden, granddaughter, Keyla Rilenge Wilke and son-in-law, Melvin Lucas.
LeRoy is survived by two daughters; Sue (Dave) Wells of Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Connie Lucas of Sullivan, Indiana, one daughter-in-law, Julie Barden of Sullivan, Indiana, six grandchildren; Erin (Richie) Paul, Emily (David) Mize, Kelly Lynch Queen, Krystal (Eric) Bradbury, Carrie (Clinton) Depue and Benjamin (Danielle) Rilenge, great-grandchildren; Ava and Addison Paul, Jakaylee Smith, Samantha Mize, Kohlson and Lilly Carter, Ayden and Collyn Bradbury, Madisyn, Landyn and Liam Wilke, Calvin and Caleb Depue, Addilyn Stewart and Lucas Rilenge.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 8, 2021 with Elder Curtis Mitchell officiating at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
