Leon Stanifer Obituary

Leon Stanifer, 80, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at his daughter’s home.

He was born on October 22, 1939 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Everett Stanifer and Eleanor Rasky Stanifer. Leon graduated high school and joined the US Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Pfizer as a squad leader in Terre Haute and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 139 and VFW Post.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his two daughters; Jennifer Francis of Avon, Indiana and Melissa Stanifer of Linton, Indiana, two sons; James Stanifer of Florida and David Stanifer of Linton, Indiana, four brothers; Everett Stanifer (Sharon) of Tampa, Florida, Larry Stanifer (LeaAnn) of Plainfield, Indiana, Bob Stanifer (Tracy) of Sullivan, Indiana and Rick Stanifer (Robin) of Sullivan, Indiana, three sisters; Linda Howard of Wilfred, Indiana, Nancy Rinard of Wilfred, Indiana and Debbie Jones (John) of Sullivan, Indiana and ten grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
