Lois E. (Dillingham) Dyer

Lois E. Dyer, 94, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Sunday, November 27, 2022. She was born on July 16, 1928 to Floyd and Alta Hiatt Dillingham in Sullivan, Indiana. A 1946 graduate of New Lebanon High School, she was granted the gift of a long life and not one minute of it was wasted. Every day she woke up ready to hit the ground running. She retired from American Latex after 29 years. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her angel food cakes and jelly rolls were legendary. Devoted to her home and family, many knew her as “Grandmother” and was loved by all.

Lois was a 60-year member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church. A woman of great faith her trust never wavered even under the most difficult circumstances. She was so kindhearted and generous. She lived her life as a true example of what it means to be a follower of Christ.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert after 69 years of marriage, brother, Medford and sister-in-law, Dot.

She is survived by two daughters; Susie (Randy) Smith and Edie Dyer (HD) Wilson, grandchildren; Thad (Maria) Smith, Mindi (JJ) Jennings, Anna (Michael) Damico and Hunter (Kristen) Wilson, great-grandchildren; Rhett (Haley) Smith, Rhagen (Joe) O’Neill, Mattee Foster, Samantha Morgan, Levi Jennings, Flora Damico, Twyla Damino, Eden Wilson, Maryn Wilson, Lynox Wilson with one on the way and eight great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Sharon Marquis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2022 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Bret Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Brust Funeral Home and prior to the service on Friday.
