Marvin Leroy Riley

Marvin Leroy Riley (known as Leroy) 76 of Sheridan, Indiana & (formerly of Sullivan & Shelburn, Indiana) went home to be with Jesus December 19, 2022. Leroy was born June 15, 1946 in Terre Haute, In. to Marvin G. & Clara B. Miller Riley.

Leroy graduated from North Central H.S. Farmersburg, In.in 1964. After H.S. Leroy attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute,In. and graduated in 1973 with a masters degree. He was a teacher for 1 yr. at Columbus H.S. in Columbus, In., he then taught Industrial Education for 10 yrs at Paris H.S.in Paris,Illinois. Leroy then went on to Hoosier Energy Power Plant where he retired after many years with the company.

On September 12, 1965 Leroy married the love of his life Karen Walters Riley who survives. Leroy & Karen were H.S sweethearts and remained so until his passing.
Leroy loved refinishing antique furniture with his wife and excelled in wood carving, he also hand tooled leather making purses for family members. Leroy belonged to he National Woodcarvers Association until the time of his passing.

Leroy also loved his rides on the golf cart with his wife and caretaker

Leroy is survived by his remaining family: Son Kevin Riley (Angel Riley) of Fairbanks, In., Daughter Beth Riley of Indianapolis, In.
Grandchildren: Shamen Riley, Kyle Riley(Macey), Kiana Boone, Michael Boone(Jennifer) & Kirstie Miller Wright (Adam)
Great Grandchildren:Skylar, Kaylen, Brooklynn, Sophia,Colton, Walker ,Coleman, Braylee, Mia, Tyson & Kyson. Brothers: Eugene Riley(Peggy) of Shelburn,In. & Steve Riley of Sullivan, In. and several nieces & nephew.

 Also his extended family & caregivers for which he was so thankful for: Tonya Stern of Sheridan, In., Kay Toomey Of Sheridan, In. & Kyla Harris of Sheridan, In.
Proceeding him in death was his parents & his grandson Zachary Taylor Boone(2016)

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday December 27, 2022 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, IN with Pastor David Simpson officiating. Burial in the Little Flock Cemetery. Visistation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00PM Tuesday.
