Mary Maxine Hiatt, 100 of Sullivan, IN passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, at her residence.

            She was born in Sullivan, IN January 1, 1922, the daughter of Herman Cox and Margaret Emily Cafin Borders Cox.

            Maxine graduated from Sullivan High School in 1942. She married John “Dink” Hiatt on May 14, 1944. She worked at RCA in Bloomington, IN, Gossards and Clean Laundry in Sullivan, IN.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John “Dink” Hiatt, three sisters, Florence Cox Shelton, Margie Cox Bogard, and Elizabeth Borders Weaver five brothers, John E. Cox, Hubert Cox, Roy Cox, James Borders, and Bill Cox, a son-in-law, Bruce Thompson.

            Survivors include her children, Sandra Hiatt Lynch Thompson of Columbus, IN, Linda Hiatt Garza (Joe) of Terre Haute, IN, and John C. Hiatt (Karla) of Sullivan, IN. eight grandchildren Joe Garza (Kim), Jamie Garza, Amber Hiatt, Ian Hiatt, Lori McGriff (Brian), Lisa Lienhoop (Bruce), Lynn Murphy (Greg), and Leslie Johnson (Derek), several great and great-great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Brust Funeral Home with Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial in the Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until services.
