Obituary
Monty Lynn Maze, 72, of Shelburn, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Sullivan County Community Hospital. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He devoted his life to helping his family and anyone that needed it. He never met a stranger and loved learning new things.
He was born on May 20, 1951, in Hartford, Kentucky the son of Jessie Maze and Vera Mosely Maze. Monty worked for Peabody Coal for several years and Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Carlisle, Indiana.
Monty is preceded in death by parents, two brothers: Martin Maze and Michael Maze and grandson, Brazen Maze.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Johnson Maze, three sons; Jeremy Maze of Kansas City, Missouri, Jessie (Kerri) Maze of Linton, Indiana and Monty Dale Maze of Dugger, Indiana, sister, Marilyn (Mickey) Jackson of Texas, brother, Mitchel (Debbie) Maze of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, four grandchildren; Aiyana Maze, Melidian Maze (Rayven), Tehya Maze and Blayne Wallisa and two great-grandchildren; Elijah and Izzy Maze. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Longs Chapel Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with Johnie Edwards officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
