Pamelia Tallman Obituary

Pamelia LeDune Tallman age 81 died, October 3, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospice. She was the only child of the late Dr. Emmett K. and Pearline Willis LeDune and was born October 3, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Raised in Sullivan, Indiana as a child of God, she graduated from Sullivan High School in 1957 where she was active in many organizations and elected homecoming queen her senior year. Pam was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church.

She graduated from DePauw University with a degree in English Literature in 3 ½ years accomplishing this by attending Indiana State University during the summers. While at DePauw she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Some years later she did post graduate work in English and American Literature at Purdue University

Pam was an English teacher at Westlane Jr. High in Washington Township (Indianapolis) leaving to wed William C. Tallman August 6, 1961. They lived in Evansville, Indiana where she was an English teacher at Evansville Central High.

Pam and Bill resided in Lafayette, Indiana for 28 years and raised their son (Timothy) and daughter (Tamra) there. They were members of Central Presbyterian Church. She was also member of Lafayette Country Club and an active member in Tri Kappa Sorority as well as the Purdue chapter of Pi Phi Alumnae Club serving on the advisory and corporation boards. During this time, she was Vice President, President, and advisor of the Lafayette City and Purdue Panhellenic Council, Chair of the Purdue Panhellenic Scholarship Luncheon and advisor of the State Panhellenic conference. She was currently an inactive member of the Indianapolis Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club and Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Prior to moving to Indianapolis in 2002 to be near family. Bill and Pam lived for awhile in Monticello, Indiana on Lake Shafer and were members of Tippecanoe Country Club.

Pam’s greatest love was her family. She is survived by Bill, her husband of 59 years, her son Timothy of Lexington, Kentucky, and her daughter Tamra Munn (Michael) of Carmel, Indiana and two grandchildren Madison and Teddy Munn of Carmel.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Her burial will be in the LeDune Family plot in Center Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
