Robert Leon Roberts

Robert Leon Roberts, 90, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.

He was born on August 4, 1931 in Sullivan County, Indiana the son of Ellis Alvey Roberts and Jessie Lois Chastain Roberts. Bob graduated high school and married Peggy Lou Thrasher on July 9, 1960. He retired from the US Airforce and from Terre Haute Post Office after 17 years. Bob was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, reading Louis L’Amour books and tinker with things in his garage. Bob was an avid golfer and a member of the Rinky Dink Golfers.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Ellis Roberts and sister, Mary Kay Loudermilk.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Lou Roberts, son, Jeffery Lee (Sharon) Roberts of Sullivan, Indiana, three grandchildren; Brittnee Paige (Jedidiah) Smith, Mark Alan (Mandy) Roberts and Wyatt Lee Roberts, great-grandchildren; Jaklee Jane Smith, Teagan Leanna Wilson, Lyric Ann Roberts and one on the way, two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 27, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home.
