Robert “Bob” Allen Daves, 78, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on February 11, 1945, in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Geroge Lloyd Daves and Mary Ann Pearison Daves. Bob retired from the US Army. He went to basic training in Oklahoma then served in The Vietnam War from 1965-1966 as part of the 5th battalion 82nd artillery regium as a 13 Bravo. Bob worked at Raybestos in Sullivan, Indiana for over 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Sullivan Moose Lodge #2517, Sullivan American Legion Post #139 and Sullivan VFW Post #2459. His passions include playing pool, fishing at the White River, talking to his sister Becky daily and most of all spending time with his family.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife of over 50 years, Deloris Davis Daves, daughter, Roxane Daves (fiancé Jeremy Smith) of Terre Haute, Indiana, son, Robert Allen Daves II of Sullivan, Indiana, four grandchildren; Keith Moody, Elizabeth Moody, Koletta Tatom and Jesse Tatom, great-grandchildren; Olivia Moody, Alexis Moody, Addisson Moody, Riley McDonnall, Caroline House and Samuel Byrd and sister, Rebecca “Becky” Tharp of Muncie, Indiana. He is also survived by his lifelong best friends Grover Monroe (they called each other brothers), Jim Denny and families who called him Uncle Bob.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Keith Moody officiating. Interment will follow in Longs Chapel Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Brust Funeral Home.
