Rose Marie (Wade) Mahurin

Rose Marie Mahurin, 88, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at her home.

Rose was born to Effie and Raymond Wade on August 28th,1932 the youngest of 5 children.

She is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings; Delora Partlow, Lorraine Wilkinson, Raymond “Bud” Wade and John Wade, her husband Lorne “Earl” Mahurin, grandson, Jerry Mahurin, special friend, Eugene Bales and best friend Diana Shepherd.

She is survived by four children; Stephen (Candice) Mahurin, Mark (Shauna) Mahurin, Ray Mahurin, Robin (Wes) Wilkes, grandchildren; Heather DeLeon, Aleia (Brady) Hanson, Anthony (Patia) Mahurin, Justin (Mandy) Mahurin, Angela (Jarry) Evans, Stacie (James) Clark, Jacob Wilkes and several great-grandchildren.

Rose was a homemaker for most of her life while her family was growing up then she worked at Millers Merry Manor for 15 years in the housekeeping and laundry department always taking pride in her work. She retired from Millers and went to work as the People Greeter at Walmart where she remained for 15 years when she retired at 80 years old. She missed the job at Walmart and seeing all of the people and playing Mrs. Clause at Christmas time. Rose was a fun-loving person who loved her family, and took great pride in her home. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 139.

Rose will truly be missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
