Rose McCammon Obituary

Rose Marie Ravellette McCammon, the most amazing woman went to her heavenly home on January 13, 2021 after a long battle with congestive heart issues. That wonderfully full heart failed her body in the end, but it served her so well over a lifetime filled with great love and devotion to her family and friends.

She was known to so many as Rosie, but to all of us she was Rose, mom, gram and nana. In 1975, she decided that while she needed to work, she did not want to be away from her husband and children. She loved her home and pursued a way to start a business at home. She completed a mail in course on flower arranging and the rest is history. Forty-five years later she had celebrated a wonderful life full of customers that she knew as friends at Country Creations Floral Shop in Carlisle, Indiana. She worked to some degree up until the very end of her life. Not because, she had to do so but because it was a huge part of her identity. She also loved to square dance and to play her organ in the living room much to the delight of her family.

Rose was born on December 8, 1941 to the late Lawrence Ben Ravellette and Bonnie Meeks Ravellette in Oaktown, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband Gerald McCammon of Carlisle, Indiana and children Kevin McCammon of Kissimmee, Florida, Steve McCammon (Jill) of Louisville, Kentucky, Neil McCammon (Donna) of Carlisle, Indiana, and Erika Stitzle (Chris) of Carlisle, Indiana. She is also survived by grandchildren Heather Ferro (Gatlin) of Carlisle, Indiana, Kyle McCammon of Louisville, Kentucky and Derek Stitzle of Carlisle, Indiana, great grandchildren, Xander and King Ferro of Carlisle, Indiana. She is also survived by her siblings Leon Ravellette of Little Rock, Arkansas, Karen Theriac of Carlisle, Indiana, Dan Ravellette (Vickie) of Vincennes, Indiana, Brian Ravellette (Cindy) of Vincennes, Indiana and Freida Ragan (Don) of Franklin, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by brothers Bernie Ravellette and Mike Ravellette.
