Sharon Hollifield, 87, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Sullivan County Community Hospital.

She was born on April 13, 1937, in Nashville, Indiana the daughter of Luther Powell and Mary Bush Powell. Sharon was a member of the Crossroads Community Church in Sullivan, Indiana and the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary Post #139. She enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army, dancing, listening to music and spending time with her family. Sharon especially enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren’s sports. She loved bringing comfort to her friends and family with prayer and rejoice to the Lord.  

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Hollifield in 1991, son, Mark Ivy, stepson, John Hollifield and brother, Luther Allen Powell.

Survivors include two sons; Phillip (Brenda) Ivy of Hymera, Indiana and Lyndale Ivy of Pendleton, Indiana, daughter, Leticia (Chad) Maxey of Dugger, Indiana, companion, William Large, six grandchildren; David (Anna) Ivy, Phillip (April) Ivy Jr., Jeremey Ivy, Kevin (Hailey) Ivy, Chance (Kaila) Hollifield and Jackie Snavely (Michael Aschenberg), thirteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, step-daughter, Lorena Martin (Will Benson) of Sullivan, Indiana, several step-grandchildren and sister, Nancy (Gary) Shipley of New Lebanon, Indiana. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Brust Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM, Monday, January 13, 2025, at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Steve Hollis officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Wilfred, Indiana.
