Shirley M. (Dennis) Gaskins

Shirley M. Gaskins, 93, of Farmersburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Springhill Village in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was born on October 7, 1928 in Jackson, Missouri the daughter of Donald Dennis and Opal Shoemaker Dennis. Shirley graduated from high school and worked at Roots for several years. She was a member of the Farmersburg United Methodist Church.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry Gaskins, son, Michael Gaskins, son-in-law, Mike Johnson and brother-in-law, Lester Swearingen.

Survivors include two sons; Donald Gaskins (Rose Ann) of Farmersburg, Indiana and Richard Gaskins (Carol) of Sullivan, Indiana, daughter, Margaret Johnson of Farmersburg, Indiana, two sisters; Pat Barbour (Gene) of Erlanger, Kentucky and Delores Swearingen of Brazil, Indiana, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A private graveside service will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg, Indiana with Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Farmersburg Friends of the Park or the Sullivan County Humane Society.
