Stephen Dale Pirtle, 71, of Merom, Indiana passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

He was born on March 16, 1947 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Dale and Phyllis Bunch Pirtle. Stephen was a veteran of US Air Force and was a roll grinder at Novelus. He married Linda Bogard on February 4, 1967.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife 52 of years Linda Pirtle, son, Michael Wayne Pirtle (Shawna) of Merom, Indiana, three daughters; Marsha Lynn Craighead (Richard) of Shelburn, Indiana, Laurie Ann Smith (Yancy) of Merom, Indiana and Stephanie Kay Murray (John) of Livermore, California, two sisters; Linda Grado of Hobbs, New Mexico and Joanne Clark (Everett) of Dugger, Indiana and six grandchildren; Jared Craighead, Kaitlyn Craighead, Coriawna Pirtle, Dilan Pirtle, Sabrina Murray and Nicholas Murray.

Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carlisle, Indiana with Pastor Erich Blevens officiating and a Military service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
