Thomas B. Hiatt

Thomas B. Hiatt, 73, of Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.

He was born on April 16, 1947 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Homer Eugene Hiatt and Zelia Roberts Hiatt. Tom married Inez Holbert on June 4, 1971. He earned his master’s degree at ISU and was a teacher for 41 years at Union High School and five years at Sullivan Jr. and High School. Tom was a sponsor of the Beta Club, Junior Class, Senior Class and Camera Club. He was a 4H Leader, athletics director, coach for girls’ basketball, referee for volleyball, assistant football coach, a bus driver and he was on the Library board for several years. He was a member of the Dugger Masonic Lodge.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Hiatt.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Inez Hiatt, two sons; Jason Hiatt (Krissi) of Newburgh, Indiana and Bradley Hiatt of Sullivan, Indiana, sister, Shelly Parris (John) of Sullivan, Indiana, sister-in-law, Wilma Hiatt of Sullivan, Indiana, four grandchildren; Blaize, Berkley, Layla and Bodhi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Masonic services will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana followed by the funeral service with Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Aydelotte Scholarship at Dugger Community Union High School (DUCS) 7356 E. Co. Rd. 50 South, Dugger, IN 47848.
