Thomas R. Horton

Thomas Randall Horton, 37, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 5, 1985, in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Randall Horton and Susan Horton. Thomas is preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman and Alice Horton of Carlisle, Indiana, and John and Gloria Graham of Sullivan, Indiana. His mother, Susan, died simultaneously. Survivors include his father Randy Horton, sister, Melissa (Josh) Blunck and nephew Max of Bloomington, Indiana, uncle, John F. Graham, aunts; Jeanne Ann Graham, and Phyllis Graham all of Sullivan, Indiana, and Linda (Mick) Shorter of New Lebanon, Indiana. He is also survived by many cousins and other close family members and friends. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman who had a deep passion for hunting, fishing, and collecting rocks. He loved hiking through the woods with a walking stick in hand to scout for animal tracks and look for shed antlers and animal skulls. Thomas loved casting his line into any body of water to catch a variety of fish. He had a passion for rocks with a collection that was actively growing. When Thomas was little, he would hunt for ginseng and mushrooms with his father. He was an excellent hunting buddy and could find anything. Thomas also was a tinkerer of cars and trucks. He studied automotive technology and welding at Vincennes University. He loved off-roading and getting his Toyota “yota” stuck in all sorts of places. He learned welding from his father, a long-term millwright. Thomas was a proud uncle, who loved his family and friends fiercely. A celebration of life will be held at a later date with burial at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
